SEO for HVAC, Plumbing and Roofing Companies in the Valley

SEO for a Valley HVAC, plumbing or roofing company comes down to four things: a Google profile with your phone number and real service area, a page for each service in each city you cover, reviews that describe the job, and proof of licensing and insurance on your site. A person with a broken AC does not browse. They pick fast.

This post sits under the SEO guide for McAllen and the Valley and focuses on what changes when the customer's problem is a dead AC, a leaking pipe or a roof that let in last night's rain. If you sell homes rather than fix them, SEO for real estate agents in the Valley is the parallel guide.

When do Valley customers search for home services?

They search when something breaks, and breakage follows the weather. Valley summers are long and hot, so "AC not cooling" arrives when the house is already uncomfortable and the person wants a name and a phone number in under a minute. Storms and hurricane season bring roof leaks, water damage and electrical problems. NOAA puts the Atlantic hurricane season at June 1 through November 30.

Two habits follow. First, make the phone the star of the page: a tap-to-call button at the top of every page on mobile, using the same number as your Google profile. Second, do not let calls go dark. A missed call is a lost job, so record a voicemail greeting with your name and a way to text you back. Build your service pages before the season starts, not in the middle of the rush.

Build a page for each service in each city you cover

Most home service sites have a single page that says "AC repair, plumbing, roofing, serving the Rio Grande Valley." A customer in Edinburg who types "AC repair Edinburg" is not looking for the whole Valley. A page built for that one service and that one city has a better chance of matching the search.

Say a roofing company in Weslaco works in Weslaco, Mission and Donna. Start with the combinations that bring paying jobs, such as "roof repair in Weslaco" and "roof replacement in Mission." Each page needs content that really changes from city to city.

  • The problems you actually see on jobs in that city, described in your own words.
  • The neighborhoods you work in and how quickly you can usually arrive, only if you can keep that promise.
  • Photos from real jobs in that city, with a short caption.
  • Your license number, insurance statement and warranty terms.
  • A phone number, a text option and a plain explanation of how you price a job.

Do not clone one page and swap the city name. Readers notice. The logic for smaller cities is covered in SEO in Mission, Edinburg and Pharr, and the Cameron County side is in SEO in Brownsville and Harlingen.

Reviews with job details and photos

For a home service company, a review works like a reference from a neighbor. The most useful ones name the problem and the outcome: "Water heater quit on Sunday, tech was here by noon, no surprises on the bill." You cannot script a review, but you can ask a question that invites detail, such as "What was going on when you called us?" Add photos of finished work to your own profile, which Google recommends.

Ask when the technician is finishing, with a text that carries your Google review link. The routine for getting more Google reviews shows how to do it in five minutes a day without breaking Google's rules. Reply to every review, including bad ones, in a calm voice with a phone number for follow-up.

Show your license, insurance and who is coming

Letting a stranger into your house is a trust decision. Put the proof where it is easy to find: your license number as your state issues it, a plain statement that you are insured (only if you are), names and photos of your crew, a picture of a marked truck, and your warranty terms in writing. Licensing rules differ by trade, so check yours with the agency that issues them. This post does not cite them.

Google also runs a paid program called Local Services Ads, where it screens advertisers before they appear. Its help pages say the screening varies by category and region and may include license, insurance and background checks, and that you pay for customer leads rather than clicks. It is a separate lane from the free profile and website work in this post, and its badges have changed recently, so read the current terms before you decide.

What do customers ask AI about home repairs?

Some people now ask an assistant before they call: "Who can fix an AC today in Mission?" "Should I repair or replace a 15-year-old AC?" "How much does a roof replacement cost in the Valley?" An assistant can only repeat what it finds, so it can name a company whose site states its cities, services, hours and how pricing works. Give the honest factors that change your prices, and your own ranges if you are comfortable posting them.

Guessing what people ask is a start. The 10 questions your customers ask AI shows how to list yours, and commercial intent searches explains why "AC repair Edinburg emergency" is worth more than "how does an AC work." The Growrank AI Visibility Dashboard shows the exact answer ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity give about your business and which competitors they name instead of you.

Frequently asked questions

Should I list every Valley city in my Google Business Profile service area?

List the places you will actually send a truck. Google allows up to 20 service areas, set by city or postal code, and suggests keeping the overall area within about two hours of driving from your base. A short, honest list also makes it easier to write a real page for each city.

Do I need a separate web page for every city I serve?

Only for cities where you do real work and have something true to say. Start with the two or three cities that bring most of your jobs. A page that only swaps the city name adds nothing, so add local job photos, examples and how you serve that area.

Should I hide my address on Google if I work from home?

Google's guidelines say to hide your address if you operate from a residential location, and to list service areas instead. Your profile can still show your phone number and website. Do not use a P.O. box or a virtual office as your address, since Google does not allow them.

How do I handle emergency calls in Spanish?

Say "Se habla español" on your site and profile only if the person answering the phone can help in Spanish. If many of your customers ask in Spanish, keep Spanish versions of your main service pages. A profile that promises a language you cannot deliver costs you the job and possibly a review.

Can ChatGPT recommend my plumbing company?

It can, if what the web says about you is clear and consistent: your services, cities, reviews and website. Nobody can guarantee a recommendation, and assistants change. You can see what they say today by asking about your business, or by running Growrank's free check.
